REMEMBER THY CREATOR

Ecclesiastes 12:1 is the text that connotes the topic we will be looking at today.

Remember now thy Creator in the days of thy youth, while the evil days come not, nor the years draw nigh, when thou shalt say, I have no pleasure in them.

Forget is the opposite of remember so we will look at why we should not forget God.

  • 1. Some wounds heal but the scars never fades; as youth and growing teenagers, there are some mistakes we should avoid because it could take us 10 years down the drain or even more devastatingly. Esau (Gen 25:20-34) was not in control of his own appetite and subsequently sold his birthright for a meal. If we scroll down the next chapter we see that he later became great bit he couldn’t correct that error between his brother several years ago.
  • 2. Solomon (1kings 1:5-49) was granted wisdom by God and he forgot God after the various blessings God rained on him which led him to forsake God and eventually God hated the very man He loved before.
  • 3. We should also not forget God because when the time of jubilee comes, our blessing might become vulnerable. Deuteronomy 8:11-20, it is an instruction not to forget God because God can lift a man and can as well belittle him.
  • I pray that as believers we shall never forsake God in our time of blessings and keep to His commandments at all times Amen.
